Steph Ledbetter is the Founder and CEO of Modern HR Collaborative, a strategic HR consulting firm founded to help small businesses scale with intention. With more than 20 years of experience in the HR field, Steph specializes in aligning people strategy with business strategy—driving meaningful growth, strengthening leadership capacity, and building organizations where culture and performance move in the same direction.
Steph holds a Master’s degree in Organizational Leadership from Gonzaga University and a Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration from Nebraska Wesleyan University. Her expertise spans executive development, organizational design, strategic planning, culture transformation, HR infrastructure, and leadership coaching. She brings a seasoned, executive-level approach grounded in the realities of how small and mid-sized businesses operate, grow, and evolve.
Steph grew up in Lincoln, NE and has deep roots in the community. She founded Modern HR Collaborative to fill a critical need: giving smaller organizations access to the level of strategic HR partnership typically reserved for large scale companies. Modern specializes in helping founders, executives, and boards build scalable HR frameworks, elevate leadership practices, strengthen culture and engagement, and create intentional alignment between people, processes, and long-term business goals.
Steph’s approach is practical, strategic, and deeply people-focused—ensuring clients not only have strong HR systems in place, but also the leadership clarity and strategic guidance needed to grow their organizations with confidence and purpose.
Outside of work, Steph is married and a mom to two daughters. Her personal experience navigating career, leadership, and family fuels her commitment to helping businesses create environments where people can excel.
